11:00 am The PARADE begins on Allegan at Pine, continues east to Capitol, takes a left on Capitol to Ottawa and another left on Ottawa to the end.
8:00 pmCONCERT at Riverfront Park. The Lansing Concert Band, sponsored by the City of Lansing, will perform a free concert at the corner of Shiawasee and Grand Ave.
10:00 pm NuUnion Credit Union and the City of Lansing present FIREWORKS after the band performance.

Church of the Resurrection 87 Years of History
In conjunction with the Lansing 150 Celebration, the Church of the Resurrection will host a two day exhibit featuring the Parish’s 87 year history.The exhibit will include audio and video presentations as well as photo and print displays. A children’s play area will be available.

Creating a Community: The Early Women of Lansing
To help celebrate Lansing’s Sesquicentennial, the Michigan Women’s Historical Center welcomes back this exhibit highlighting the contributions of the community’s first female teachers, doctors, ministers, librarians, and suffrage leaders just to name a few.Artifacts owned by several of these women, plus hands on activities for young visitors make this a must see attraction for 2009.

Directions: Take I-496 to Lansing and get off at the Walnut/Pine Streets exit. The Historical Center is located in a large yellow house on the south side of Main Street, between Townsend Street and Capitol Avenue. Hours of Operation:Wednesday-Saturday 12 noon-4:00 p.m., Sunday 2:00-4:00 p.m. The Center is closed on major holiday weekends.
Admission:$2.50 adults; $l.00 students (5-18 yrs); $2.00 seniors. If a group numbers 10 or more, the adult fee is reduced to $2.00 per person. Parking:A free, city-owned lot is located on the east side of the Center and can accommodate cars, vans, or buses. Shopping:The Center maintains a gift shop featuring books, T-shirts, mugs, and other items relating to Michigan women's history.
Dining:The city-owned Cooley Gardens, just to the west of the Center, provides a beautiful picnic area for groups.
The Michigan Women's Historical Center and Hall of Fame offers exhibits which celebrate the achievements and history of Michigan women, including members of the Michigan Women's Hall of Fame. Additionally, the Center contains an art gallery with changing exhibits displaying the work of outstanding Michigan women artists. Group tours of the Center can be arranged both during and after hours when scheduled in advance. A typical tour lasts 45 minutes to an hour. Maximum group size is 40.

In 2009, our community will celebrate its 150th birthday. We’re planning a year-long birthday party! This site is designed to be the center of information updates and resources as plans unfold. You can expect frequent revisions, additions and updates.
At the request of Mayor Virg Bernero and City Council, the Lansing Rotary Club has committed to be the lead organization in the planning and coordination of Lansing’s upcoming Sesquicentennial Celebration.
